and focused on the English, Math, and Science lessons. The curriculum this year is
easier, e.g. Last years KG 2 students were already focusing on both reading and
writing, whereas this years KG 2 are mostly focusing on reading. This years
students barely knew how to write their name in English on their own compared to
Ms. Ebtihals students. This terms focus is revolved around Phonic Sounds, the
students will be able to recognize, identify, and blend phonic sounds. Some
students were able to write words such as sat or as just by listening attentively
to the pronunciation of the word. On October 15, Ms. Antoinette came to observe
me. I taught a Phonic sound /p/, I went ahead by asking the students how theyve
been and sang as a whole class the Hello song I used this song with my previous
students, it gets them hyped up and motivated to start the day and the action moves
are quite simple to follow and memorize. I revised previous sounds that theyve
learned before (/a/, /s/, /t/) using picture cards and then moved on to the sound /p/.
The words that the students were focusing on is popcorn, penguin, and
pirate. The activity that I choose was like a revision for all phonic sounds
instead of only /p/ only. I choose a group of 4-5 students and explained to them
the activity. I handed out the cards and say words such as apple and tiger and
the students have to point to the letter that correlates with the beginning sounds.
This activity is to check who has the ability to identify it by sound, I assessed the
students by using a checklist. During this week, I tried my best to move fast and
get things done, such as teaching them a science lesson and working on
observation 4.
