Shapes and Colours Lesson Reflection

Select (S):
The lesson I taught today was about shapes. The lesson was simple and fun except the English names for
the shapes. Students were able to identify and recognize shapes and colors, since each shape had a different
color.

Describe (D):
The lesson was for 4-5 years old students in KG2 & it take place in Al Darari Kindergarten. I tried to let the
students understand and recognize the meaning of shapes and whats the name of each shape. I taught them
four shapes, because it would be harder if I add more, they learnt the circle, square, tringle and rectangle.
Students had fun during the lesson, there were shapes hunting game, drawing the shapes, coloring shapes
according to the colors learnt during the circle time and some of them tried to write the name of them with
my help.

Analyze (A):
Students had fun and they were enjoying the lesson, because of the variety of activities that I provided. The
majority of the students was able to name two shapes and three colors from four shapes and four colors from
their prior knowledge. Students was well engaged by the game and the activities.

Appraise (A):
Students enjoyed the lesson, but even though they did, they faced difficulties trying to differentiate between
the tringle and rectangle, it was hard for them to say the word also. Otherwise they enjoyed it especially the
shape hunting part. By the end of the lesson I did achieve my learning outcomes except some of them as I
said couldnt differentiate between triangle and rectangle.

Transform (T):
In the future I might try to make it simpler for them and teach them tringle and rectangle in two different
day, also next time I will review the lesson by taking them outside and asking them to find shapes for me in
the playground. The lesson went well when I used a lot of managing rules, eye contact and involving all the
students in the lesson as much as I can.
