Further, why that nonsense about a cabinet position when after all it is the Governor-General who
determines who shall be her advisors in Government? If after all this time in the parliament you still
don’t know what is constitutionally applicable then boy have you learned little!
.
I have attached correspondences I previously forwarded to the Governor-General and it seems to me
you better do learn what the constitution is about. Did you ever bother to read it? I doubt it!
.
Australians are entitled to have a government that the Governor-General determines is appropriate
and not that some people dictate what the advisors (Ministers) should be!
All the power an elected Member of Parliament has is to negotiate the passing of any bills. And for
so far I am aware of none of the elected members of the 2010 election have as yet even taken up a
seat in the parliament other then the Senators who were and remaining in any event to be sitting
Senators until the 1st of July 2011.
As such, lets cut out your crap and lets be realistic as to what is appropriate!
.
What on earth is going on where those now elected to the House of Representative of which none, I
repeat none, have taken up their seat as yet until the time the writs are returned tare nevertheless
now dictating what government must be in place even so by the time the writs are returned it may
very well be that one or more may not be eligible to take up a seat in the Parliament for whatever
reason.
Come on try to be smarter then you seem to display now to me and be aware that elections are held
on a constitutional basis to elect representatives to the parliament and not to elect a Government.
The Governor-General is constitutionally exercising the prerogative powers to determine who shall
form a government and I view that as long as you are on the payroll of the taxpayers you at the very
least should show respect to the prerogative powers of the Governor-General.
.
If you desire to maned the constitution to change the system then that is your right to pursue this but
unless and until you achieve this I urge you to show appropriate respect to the office of the
governor-General and not interfere or seek to interfere with who the Governor-General appoints.
If you prefer the Italian, English or whatever system then you are free to move to any of those
countries as I for one will not ask you not to do so but while you are a member of the Australian
Parliament I am entitled to ask you to observe and respect the constitutional limitations that exist
within our constitutional framework and acknowledge that other systems no matter who good you
may claim they are working may not fit within our constitutional structure.
.
If you desire people to show respect to you then do keep in mind that you first need to show respect
to their constitutional and other legal rights and not so to say trample upon them merely because it
might suit your political agenda.
.
I invite you to point out where in the constitution it shows that a minister is elected to government
by a general election or by way of DOUBLE DISSOLUTION! You just might discover that it
doesn’t exist and in my view as a leader of a political party it is a very serious deficiency on your
part not to understand/comprehend what the meaning and the application of the constitution is and
more over to go on and on about matters which are prerogative powers who have no say in.
.
Would you really accept that I were to interfere with your right as a party leader and made decision?
Come on wake up and acknowledge you were wrong and forget about so called constitutional;
conventions because they cannot and never do override constitutional limitations as if it were to be
then we might as well throw the constitution on the scrap heap as then every politician does his own
thing.
.
As for Tomy Abbott not releasing his costing, as I indicated to the Governor-General I view it
would be highly inappropriate to do so in the circumstances prevailing.
