 PROCESS

The idea behind the brand Mama Made is that we make old
fashioned food for a generation that no longer knows how to
make that food for themselves. The essence of the brand is to
have a product that tastes like it could have been canned by
your mother in the country.

The interesting opportunity we have is to target those younger

individuals 18-34 and give them a brand that speaks to them on
a design level but speaks to their parents on a taste level. The
challenge is to stay on the line between city style and country
taste.

The History of Mama Made is that its literally made by a mama

that knows how to make things the old fashioned way. As of this
date the brand portion of this company has been missing. Up till
now that company has only been surviving on taste and
word-of-mouth alone. However, in order to make it into The
Mercantile or other larger grocers, Mama Made needs most
have a brand presence in order to drive any type of trial.
The strategy for the packaging design and advertising efforts is
to play up the Mama Made portion of our company. One tagline
that will be used often will is; Farmer grown, Mama Made.
Frankly this is the part of the brand that is the easiest to cap-
ture. The second portion of our strategy is to communicate a
subtle sense of youth and elegance. Jar choice is of the most
importance in order to communicate that in our packaging.
Font choices and colors will help lay a youthful undertone to
everything we do with the brand.

Ultimately, we will build a brand that will be built off of its repu-
tation and will encourage newcomers to try our product. This
strategy positions us to be able to get into higher caliber
distributors which will increase yearly volume sales.
