1 Can be detected prior to occurrence
2 Can be detected during the occurrence
3 Can be detected after the occurrence

SEVERITY DESCRIPTION
1 Short term effect & will remediate even without any thorough
rectification or the current control is sufficient to manage the
environmental impact even if it is related to legal requirement
2 Medium term effect & will only be remediate with immediate proper
emergency response or it is legal requirement with no current control
measure in place/ ineffective control measure
3 Long term effect (more than three days) even after remediation or the
effect will be visible to environment upon some period of time. The
current control measure is ineffective

OCCURRENCE DESCRIPTION
1 Average monthly occurrence or yearly occurrence (1-12 times a year)
or no occurrence at all
2 Average weekly occurrence (2-3 times a week)
3 Average daily occurrence (more than 3 times a week)
