Criteria C: Applies research, knowledge, and skills from professional development opportunities to improve practice. Artifact: Student records
My CT actively applies research and knowledge to improve her own teaching
methods. Every week my CT reviews content that was covered with students, takes notes on what worked well and what did not, and she actively refines lessons to meet the needs of each student. As a potential teacher, I believe it is very import to always be improving your practice. Using classroom data is a great way to see how well a lesson worked. In particular to special education, it is very important to adapt your lessons to your students and continue to change lessons if it did not work well the first time. Overall, the use of research, knowledge, and skills to improve practice through the use of student records/information allows you to improve your lesson, and it allows your student to be academically successful.
