1. Describe the college culture of this university.


UNCC: UNCC college life is a place where they claim everyone to fit in somewhere and have fun.
From the many clubs they have to athletic teams to being almost in the heart of Charlotte
NC State: Offers over 700 student organizations from newspaper services to deejaying.
2. What major will I peruse at this university? Is this major accredited?
UNCC: Automotive Engineering. Yes it is accredited.
NC State: Mechanical Engineering. Yes it is accredited.
3. How many credits are required to transfer? (Max and Min)
UNCC: Couldnt find the amount of credits required but it did say to have 15 elective courses.
NC State: 30 or more credits to transfer.
4. If I stay on target to graduate or complete the minimum credits at my community college, how
long will it take me to graduate from this university?
UNCC: It should take me under 3 years to graduate from here after community college.
NC State: It should take me under 3 years to graduate after community college.
5. What are three benefits to attending this university?
UNCC: Close to home so I can live at home, I already know the area well, I know they have a
good automotive program because NASCAR is here.
NC State: I can live with my grandma, I also know this area very well and one of my bestfriends
attend NC State, and they have an awesome football team this year.
6. What is campus life like?
UNCC: Campus life is said to be an exciting experience with all of the clubs and good on campus
places to eat.
NC State: Campus life is said to be a place where students need to be involved with over 700
student organizations.
7. What is the demographic break-down of the student population?
UNCC: 60% white, 17% African American, 9% Hispanic, 6% Asian
NC State: 73% White, 6% African American, 5% Hispanic, 5% Asian
8. Is this a residential campus? Can transfer students live on campus?
UNCC: Yes it is a residential campus that transfer students can live on.
NC State: Yes it is a residential campus that transfer students can live on.
9. What is the average class size for my major? Are classes in my major taught by faculty or
graduate assistants?
UNCC: There are 4000 engineering students and classes are taught by faculty.
NC State: There are 10,000 engineering students and classes are taught by graduate assistants
and faculty

and community?
UNCC: They offer a service where they can find you internships or jobs based off of your major.
NC State: There was no information on this.
11. What sources of financial aid are available to transfer students? Are there any special
scholarships for transfer students?
UNCC: FASFA is available for transfer students and there are a few transfer student scholarships.
NC State: FASFA is available for transfer students and there are a few transfer student

UNCC: There is no indication of needing recommendation letters.

UNCC: 2.5 for electrical and civil engineering and 3.0 for mechanical engineering.
