Learning Episode 1
A. Motivation
1. This morning, we will apply fancy nail design.
2. It is important to study this lesson on how to apply fancy nail design
because it is part of our personality that can boost our confidence, clean
and beautiful. You can also apply this to your client someday to make an
income.
a) Cleanliness / hygiene (Science)
We must clean our hands all the time, since we knew already that
there are pathogens everywhere like bacteria, fungi, and viruses
that can cause sickness and diseases.
b) Art/Fashion (MAPEH)
In your MAPEH, you have Art component subject, you learned
how to draw, give design and colored it using crayons, pencil and
bond papers. But here in our subject, Beauty Nail Care, you can
also draw, paint, design and coloured it but we will use nail brush
and enamel nail polish to colour your nails.
c) Marketing (TLE)
It is a strategy to attract people to be your client/customer because
of your skills in the art of fancy nail design. In the salon service the
price of your manicure is 50 pesos plus the nail art designs that
cost 100 pesos a total of 150 pesos. Now, if you have at least 2
client in one day, so you can have your income of 300 pesos
(150x2). It is a source of income that can help our day.
3. At the end of the lesson, the student are expected to apply fancy nail
designs, particularly the use of nail accessories like gems, rhinestones,
bullion beads/sprinkle beads/ cavier beads/ loose glitter/ confetti glitters.
Their performance will be rated according to the rubric given.

Probe and Respond

A. Review
Note to the teacher: The teacher will show pictures of different fancy nail designs. Let
the student identify the pictures given the name of the design.

The teacher say: Class, since you already identified the different fancy nail designs we
will now proceed to our new lesson which is how to apply the use of nail accessories.

B. Prerequisites
Note to teacher: The teacher will show video of fancy nail design using nail accessories.

The teacher says: Class what can you say about the video that I present to you? It is
attractive to look?
What is nail art?
Nail art is a practice of painting decorative designs on the nails.
Nail art is a creativity that draws pictures or designs to your nails.
Nails are important part of our personality it can give more confident and beauty to
ourselves.
Now , we will proceed the use of nail accessories.
Nail Accessories
This are nail art items such as glitters, beads, rhinestones and gems. Which can be used
to decorate the nails.

Here are the materials needed:

1. Colorless nail polish
2. Color nail polish
3. Nail polish remover
4. Cotton
5. Nail accessories
Preparing your nails

1. Apply a clear base coat- A base coat will protect your nails from the harsh effect that
polish can have.
2. Apply the base color- Once the base coat has dried, applied your desired color.
3. Allow the nail polish to dry completely- After the polish has been applied wait at
least one minute to allow the polish to set and harden a bit.
The teacher says: Class, as what Ma’am Sanchez told you yesterday that you have to
prepare your nails before applying the fancy nail designs so that it will not take time for
you to dry your nails.

Learning Episode 2. Modeling

The teacher says: Class, before I will do the demonstration let us watch the video clip
first on how to apply the use of nail accessories.

Note to the teacher: The teacher will demonstrate on how to use the nail accessories and
after this you will do it together.

Now the use of nail accessories begins:

1. Prepare your nails with the desired color.

2. Pick the design that you want in nail accessories.

3. Put it to your finger nails with an adhesive.

4. Make it sure the nail accessories are stick in your finger nails.
 5. Protect your image by applying a top coat over it.

Learning Episode 3

A. Guided Practice
Note to the teacher: Group the students peer to peer. And provide them the materials
needed. Apply the use of nail accessories in each group.
Direction: Apply nail accessories in your desired design on your little finger. Do it for 5mins
