Reflection 3

I think the best practice for reading to help the students improve their reading
and language is guided reading. Firstly, in guided reading, the teacher asked the
students different questions about the story to let the students think and imagine
what will be happened next in the story. Also, it encourages the students to speak
and share ideas during reading. Secondly, the teacher does like a shared reading of
the story though let the students read the story and the teacher also read the
story and model of the students to let them do it incorrect way. Lastly, the
teacher shows flash cards for the important vocabulary that include in the story
with pictures that describe the words in the flashcards. Its important to
implement these practices in a UAE primary classroom because it will develop their
thinking through answering the questions that the teacher asked during reading
the story. Also, it will help the students to improve their reading skills and
encourage the students to talk. As Simon (2014), Questioning and prompting so
children acquire and use self-help reading and comprehension strategies.
