December is Finally Here!
Dear Parents,
This week we learned the
letter W. The popcorn word
for this week was to. So
far your child should be able
to read and write the fol-
lowing words: A, I, is, my,
the, go, see, and, we,
like, and to.
In math, the students
are finishing up our second
unit. They will be taking the
district math test soon. I
have finished most of the
math assessments for the
report card and am very
pleased with how well the
students are doing.
In Readers Workshop, we
have been learning about
pattern books. The stu-
dents are learning how to
look for patterns to help
them in their reading. They
are beginning to stretch out
words in their reading and
are doing a great job!
Our social studies unit is
almost complete. Dont for-

get to have your child finish
his/her My Life book and
send it back to school. They
are due on Monday! I have
only had about 5 turned in
so far. The kids are really
excited to share their books
with the class.
Our Holiday Party this
year will be held on Decem-
ber 22nd. We will be making
Gingerbread Houses in the
afternoon at 2:00 p.m. We
would love to have some par-
ent helpers! Everyone is
welcome to come in and help
their child with their house.
We also need donations of
candy, frosting and graham
crackers. Please sign up on
our Sign Up Genius page if
you are willing to donate
items.
We will be visiting the
Holiday Shop next Thurs-
day, December 7th at 11:30
a.m. Please send back the
Holiday Shop envelope that
your child received yester-
day by Wednesday morning.
Each item is only $1.00.

Choose project for our December 1, 2017
classroom! We are working
towards receiving 4 new
wobble stools. Wobble
stools are stools that the
students can wiggle on
while they work. It helps Upcoming Events
get their fidgeting out and
allows them to concentrate
