The handicrafts Accessories Fashion show held in the city recently,
overturned the stereo type that handicraft items cannot make fashion
statements. Models showcased various fashion garments created by
craftsman and artisans from across the country. Oohs and aahs greeted
every item that was displayed embroidered sarees, beaded necklaces,
metallic bangles, bags and sandals. What grabbed the maximum
eyeballs was a beaded yellow umbrella.

Abhishek Basu of Calcutta Arts Club. Showcasing five talented young
artists from Bengal, the exhibition offered a range in styles and ideas as

Real or just a dream

The Samahaara Theatre Groups English play, Dominic Wesley,
staged at la makaan on Saturday evening, started off with Dominic
dreaming about his robot Wesley and him asking two separate
questions, one about dreams and the other about reality. Through the
two characters and their conversations, the play explores the rationalist
and creative sides to a persona and how these determine choices.
Kudos to Rahul who played the role of the struggling artist to the halt.
The play ended by asking viewers to decide if the entire play was a
dream in a dream or not.
