Guiding Question(s):
What are possible events that shape someones identity?
What are examples of interview questions?
o What are examples of interview questions that will give us specific times?
What is the importance of interviews?
Standards:
2.H.1 Understand how various sources provide information about the past.
2.H.1.3 Compare various interpretations of the same time period using evidence such as
photographs and interviews
Objectives:
Students will be able to explain what an interview is and their importance.
Students will be able to brainstorm interview questions that they can ask a classmate.
Students will be able to conduct an interview with a partner.
I Do/We Do:
1. Remind students about the interview questions that you picked as a class
2. Tell students to sit with their partner that they picked from last class
3. Model for the students how the interview should go/what their behavior should be
They Do:
1. Tell the students and their partners to get in a specific part of the classroom where they
are not close to anyone and are spread out
2. Have the students interview each other- make sure that they are taking notes on their
partners answers
3. Walk around to the different groups and monitor student behavior
4. Ask the students at the end- did anyone learn something new about their partner that
they didnt already know?
5. Have a few of the students share their answers to the class
Assessment:
Observe the students while they are interviewing each other to see if they are
interviewing correctly

5. Do you have any pets? Do you remember when you got the pet?
