To carry out our mission, we offer a range of assistance that centers on four core operations: lending
and investment, technical cooperation, humanitarian assistance, and international education and
training. Our Fund is used to make direct or indirect investments and to finance lending operations.
Revenues generated by the Fund are used to support our bilateral or multilateral technical
cooperation projects, humanitarian assistance operations and education and training.
Every new project from the TaiwanICDF proceeds according to a rigorous project cycle and is
backed by mutual covenants signed in cooperation with relevant stakeholders. Our projects are
designed to address the strategic development goals of each of our partner countries, pay due
consideration to associated regional trends, and maximize results by employing the right
combination of capital and technical cooperation.
Ultimately, our work is tailor-made to the local needs of each partner country. Our assistance covers

trends in development, while our higher education scholarship program draws on expertise at

partner countries. We aim to boost social development and economic growth by generating a pool
of quality human resources.

3.1 Eligibility
Applicants applying for a TaiwanICDF scholarship must meet both the general
eligibility criteria (please refer to appendix 1) and be a national of a country on the List

After the second review has been conducted in cooperation with all partner universities,
the TaiwanICDF will announce its list of scholarship recipients, in principle, no later
than June 30 each year. Successful applicants will receive an acceptance letter through
originally applied.
Please note: Gaining admission from the university does not necessarily mean that
the applicant has also been given a TaiwanICDF scholarship. Only the applicant
who receives the acceptance letter issued by the TaiwanICDF is the scholarship
recipient.

Students are required to fulfill 128 credits for graduation, which includes 54 credits for
required courses, 42-46 credits for elective courses, 28-32 credits for general courses, and
4 PE and 2 service learning courses.

1. Applicants of foreign nationality and have never held R.O.C nationality and also who do not
possess overseas Chinese student status at the time of their applications and who comply with
the regulations regarding International Students undertaking Studies in Taiwan

The IMBA program is designed to develop qualified candidates to be leaders in the field of
international business, with a special focus on the Asia-Pacific region. With the continued growth
of Asias emerging economies and the expansion of firms on a global scale, the NCCU IMBA
offers the perfect venue for international candidates to learn about Asian economies.
The IMBA program requires a minimum of 42 credits to graduate. Required courses account for 24
credits, including Business Quantitative Methods, Corporate Social Responsibility and Ethics,
Financial Management, Leaders Forum, Leadership and Team Building, Accounting, Managerial
Economics, Management Information Systems, Marketing Management, and Strategic
Management. The elective courses fall under four areas of concentration: Entrepreneurship,
Finance, Management in Asia and Marketing. Students have the option of taking the required
number of courses to achieve a concentration or take courses across concentrations to graduate with
a General MBA.
The IMBA program provides an optimal international and multicultural learning environment by
maintaining balance between Taiwanese and international students admitted to the program. The
international students represent professionals from over 35 countries in 5 continents. They are
guided by our faculty base comprised of academics and industry experts in Taiwan and from
around the world.
The IMBA faculty come from three equally qualified pools of local and international talent. A third
of the instructors hail from faculty members of the College of Commerce at National Chengchi
University (CNCCU), most of whom have earned Ph.Ds from prestigious universities around the
world. Another third of the faculty represent renowned scholars from top overseas business schools
as visiting instructors and a final third of the faculty are comprised of industry senior executives
who have long standing real-world business experience.
The international aspect of each and every area of the IMBA, including the courses, student body,
and faculty, make this program truly unique. What further differentiates the IMBA from other MBA
programs are the featured courses that integrate our expertise in Asia provided under the
Management in Asia concentration. Aside from developing a global view in world business trends,

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Completion of or the equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university.
2. Minimum of two years of full-time post-baccalaureate work experience.
3. Satisfactory previous academic achievement.
4. TOEFL score or other evidence of English proficiency whose native language is not English.
5. Any other materials that will help the Admissions Committee assess the applicants potential.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply for the IMBA with a grant of TaiwanICDF Higher Education Scholarship Program,
applicants MUST successfully complete two application procedures One for IMBA and the
other for TaiwanICDF scholarship.
Step 1. For IMBA application, please use the IMBA online application system at
http://imbaoas.nccu.edu.tw/. The online system allows candidates to access and submit the
required application documents. The system will be open between Jan. 5, 2017 and 5PM,
March 24, 2017 (UTC+8). IMBA Online Application Deadline: 5PM, March 24, 2017

Step 2. For TaiwanICDF scholarship application, please access the Scholarship Online Application
System at http://web.icdf.org.tw/ICDF_TSP/WelcomeStart.aspx to fill the application form
between Jan.1, 2017 and March 17, 2017 (UTC+8). Confirm the information you have
entered and print out the application form. Please submit the application form, together with
your other scholarship application documents, to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate
(General)/ Representative Office in your country before March 17, 2017. Please be
advised that Scholarship Online Application System will be closed on March 17, 2017

The diversity and passion of IMPIS students and faculty members will make the study in Taiwan
more productive. Each year IMPIS receives 20 master degree students, and they come not only
from Taiwan but also from all over the world. IMPIS is collaborating with various teaching and
research units of NCCU to guarantee the quality of teaching and learning and the quantity of the
courses to be offered. Those who plan to enter international affairs related professions or to

We encourage applications from all qualified persons interested in the study of management.
Individuals holding a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university are eligible for
application. Prior study in business or economics is not a requirement for admission. In the first
year, students will be equipped with fundamental knowledge of management as a background for
advanced, specialized work in academic majors and professional fields. In the second year, in
addition to the master's thesis which is required, students are free to take elective courses from six
specialties and typically major in two or three areas.

The plan of this program is to follow certain directions as the intention of development of
IMPISA. The directions are as follows:
1. Train innovative information technology personnel. The courses will focus on the three major
fields:
Data Science
We are looking for students from different domain knowledge, such as electrical engineering,
education, business management, humanities & social sciences, and medicine. Under the
cross-scope and multi-cultural environments plus the lectures and advising from our professors
who are specialized in data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language,
and big data analysis, IMPISA is a perfect place to train outstanding data scientists.
Creative Multimedia
IMPISA has lots of experiences in creative multimedia and have obtained some distinguished
and breakthroughs in recent years. In this group, we are focusing on combining information
system with other knowledges, such as Wireless Multimedia Networking Technologies and
Computer Vision for Visual Effects to name a few.
Human-centered Interaction and User Experience
Consist topics related to intelligent human computer interface, natural language, learning
technology and information media. Based on the four topics, we also extend our research to
game programming, user experience, social computing, intelligent agents, MOOCs, E-learning
and so on and so forth.
2. Encourage foreign students to take relevant culture courses to learn within a multi-cultural
environment.
3. Provide students to have opportunities to visit local technology industries in order to understand
Taiwanese industry.
4. Assist students to participate in research projects from high-tech companies.
Program Plan
1. Graduate credits will be 24 credits, plus 4 credits for thesis; altogether there will be 28 credits.

2. There will be two pre-courses, which shall not be counted into the graduate credit, including
Computer Programming and Data Structure. Basically, these two courses are prerequisite to
apply for this program.
3. IMPISA program will require two years for a student to graduate.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Completion of a four-year bachelors degree or its equivalent.
2. Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based test)/215 (computer-based test)/80 (internet-based
test) or TOEIC score of 750 is preferable, or another certificate of English proficiency for
international applicants whose native language is not English.

NTHU will be accepting international applications for 2017 Fall from January 1st to March 15th,
2017. All application materials should be submitted on-line to the application system.

Step 2. Create a Login ID (email account) and PIN (Personal Identification Number) to set up an
account. Once you have an ID and a PIN, please click on "Send". The system will set up an
account for you. You cant start process before setting up your account.
Step 3. The application has six sections, which are Applicant Information, Family Information,
Education Background, Referee Information, Language Background, and Other
Information. When finished with each section, please click on Next to proceed.
Step 4. Once you have filled out all the required information, the system will take you to a
Confirmation Page. Please confirm that all the information is correct and then press
Confirm.
Step 5. Print out all required forms from the online system.
Step 6. The applicants must prepare and upload all application requirements listed on the checking
list. The applicants need to click on submit button to complete their applications.
Step 7. After submission, you can track the progress of your application at any time using NTHU
online system.

3. Official transcript(s)
Please upload transcripts from all college, university or post-secondary educational institution
(including dates & obtained degrees). Transcripts should include grades for every semester. In
addition, the grading system must also be included.
If the original language of the academic record is not in English or Chinese, a certified English
translation must accompany the original transcript. Official copies of credentials must be
certified by a school administrative officer of the institution from which the degree was
received.
4. Study plan
Describe your short-term and long-term career goals. Explain how your future experience with
IMPISA of NTHU will assist you in reaching these goals contribute. Double-space lines and
use a minimum font size of 10. Please include any information that you believe would be
helpful to the Admissions Committee in considering your application. (No more than 3 pages.)
5. Letters of Recommendation
Two recommendation letters are required. Fill out at least 2 referees on the online application
form. Once the online application is completed and submitted, the online system will
automatically send out the recommendation notice and the link to referees. Preferable referees
are faculty members who can evaluate your academic qualifications and research potential.
6. Financial certificate
All applicants are required to provide financial proof that shows financial sustainability
(minimum TWD 120,000) for study in Taiwan, or proof of the scholarship. If you have a
sponsor to satisfy this financial obligation, then your sponsor must provide a letter declaring
their relationship to the applicant and their intent to provide financial support throughout
his/her period of study.
7. Declaration Form
Print out the declaration form and sign at the end of the form after reading through it. If
applicable, we may ask the applicant to submit a copy of the statement of travel record, or the
Forfeited Nationality Permit Certificate issued by Ministry of the Interior and
Non-Household Registration Declaration.
8. Copy of Passport
Provide a verification of your nationality or a copy of your passport.
9. Resume
Describe your background, academic performance and working experience. (500 words
maximum)
10. English Proficiency
Students from non-English-speaking countries are expected to be able to read, write, listen, and
speak English for admissions into the program. Applicants, whose first language is not English,
are required to take an English proficiency test as a part of the application procedure.
We recognize scores from the Educational Testing Service (ETS), written TOEFL,
computer-based TOEFL or internet-based TOEFL, taken within past two years. If you do not

Students from over 30 nations are taught by a diverse faculty team of academic and industry
experts. Students can expect an intellectual, stimulating and insightful learning experience. IHRD
courses include basic theories in research and management, professional knowledge of human
resource and international affairs, and integrated application of theories and practices.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the MOE Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies
in Taiwan. Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree.
1. Applicants holding certificate of equivalency exams is not eligible for application. Please note
your application will not be accepted.
2. Due to the different education system in each country, an applicant who will graduate at the
same year as the admission to National Taiwan Normal University must ensure to receive
his/her diploma and academic transcript of the highest academic degree by August 31, 2017.

Academic Requirement: Students enrolled in this program are required to complete twenty-four
(24) units of academic courses having three (3) units each. Four (4) of these courses shall be taken
from the core courses specifically designed for this program. Students need to seek the advice of
his faculty adviser to help him design his academic loading. With the approval of the program

International Business and Trade Program provides students a diverse learning environment with
the delivery of basic business knowledge and skills, nurture of professional international business
proficiency and couple with humanistic and technological courses in order to cultivate future
professional managers and good contributing citizens to the society.
This degree comprises a total of 128 credits, composed of 99 credits of required courses and 29
credits of elective courses. The curriculum for the program includes fundamental business courses
(e.g., Accounting, Economics), core professional courses (International Business and Management,

2. A photocopy of diploma from the highest educational institution completed (translated into
English). The diploma shall be certified by Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan representative
office in/near your country. If your Diploma is obtained from schools in Taiwan, it is not
necessary to be certified by Taiwan Embassy.
3. Official transcript of academic records (translated into English) with grade point average
(preferable on GPA 0-4 scale) from each institution attended (high school for those seeking
undergraduate admission; university/college for those applying MS programs). The completed
transcript is required to be certified by Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan representative office in/near
your country. If your transcript is obtained from schools in Taiwan, it is not necessary to be
certified by Taiwan Embassy.
4. Two letters of recommendation should be submitted online. The notification letter will be

5. A one-page study plan, written in English.
6. One-page autobiography within 300~500 words or curriculum vitae, written in English.

As one of the leading universities in southern Taiwan, ISU provides students with innovative ideas

professionals. The program will be carried out in a close partnership with E-Da Hospital, a
well-recognized teaching hospital affiliated to E United Group, which has received a full
accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI), an U.S.-based independent and
non-profit organization and the first Collaborating Center designated by World Health
Organization (WHO). Students will be able to not only learn from distinguished professors,
doctors and specialists, but also have direct access to state-of-the-art medical facilities, so that the
basic medical sciences and the clinical training can be fully integrated.
The mission of the School of Medicine for International Students is to nurture internationally
accredited doctors dedicated to humanitarian service and global healthcare and therefore the

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Applicants who have a bachelors degree or above conferred by a local or foreign university
recognized by the R.O.C. Ministry of Education may apply for admission; those who have
studied at the School of Medicine, Dentistry or Chinese Medicine for four years or more may
apply with credentials of an equivalent education level. The original diploma (or academic
credentials) notarized by the local R.O.C. diplomatic mission must be submitted upon
registration and enrollment (if the diploma (or academic credentials) is in a language other
than Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation notarized by the local R.O.C.
diplomatic mission or a registered translation agency is required); otherwise, an applicant will
be considered disqualified and denied admission.
2. Pursuant to Paragraph 1 of Article 2 in the MOE Regulations Regarding International Students
Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, applicants who have a foreign nationality, have never had the
nationality of the Republic of China* (R.O.C.), and do not have an overseas compatriot
student status, a Chinese nationality or the citizenship of Hong Kong/Macau at the time of
application may apply for admission.

4. This Program is open only to students who have never obtained a physician license.
HOW TO APPLY
No application fee is required for applying for admission to this Program.

An applicant must:
Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF
Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country
and/or government of citizenship.
Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas
compatriot student.
Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or
she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the
Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident
Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan)
government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a
scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).
Upon accepting a TaiwanICDF scholarship, not hold any other ROC (Taiwan)
government-sponsored scholarship (such as the Taiwan Scholarship) in the same
academic year in which the TaiwanICDF scholarship would be due to
commence.
Not be applying for a further TaiwanICDF scholarship in unbroken
succession applicants who have already held a TaiwanICDF scholarship,
MOFAs Taiwan Scholarship or an MOE scholarship must have returned to their
home country for more than one year before re-applying (note: to apply for a
2017 scholarship, an applicant must have graduated and returned to his or her
home country before July 31, 2016).
Have never had any scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government
agency or related institution, nor been expelled from any Taiwanese university.
