highest being a 4. The retelling was frustration level for Kendall. He retold 4

Reader Summary:
Kendalls motivation was similar to the first time he read this text. He was excited
to see comparisons from his first day of reading to now the last day of reading. He
had a substantial amount of background knowledge due to already having read this
text and his interest in animals and their habitats. Kendall has a hard time
recognizing his substitutions while reading. He does not pay close attention to
vocabulary words and the meaning of words.
What has the reader accomplished since the first assessment?
Kendall increased his retell and comprehension. His fluency remained the same,
but still seemed slightly improved. He was able to tie in new strategies to his final
assessment that he did not use in the first reading. Kendall noticed the title of the
book and was interested in having out usual before reading chat to talk about the
content we would be reading about. Overall, his confidence in his reading and his
comprehension increased the most. I am very pleased with his hard work and
improvement.
