Rationale Statement:
In creating the classroom management/ Plan and Layout, I realized students need a variety way
to intrigue their interest with following rules. It is my pleasure to incorporate rewards for
demonstration of good behavior. Students that are motivated to do their best daily, in a classroom
environment will strive academically. It is the teachers responsibility to create the climate of the
classroom. The climate of the classroom should be a respectful one always. When the students
are motivated with fun activities that they enjoy, they will perform better academically. Respect
for classmates, and the teacher is key from the beginning of the school year. This way students
know their boundaries. Otherwise there can be chaos throughout the school year, and this can
hinder students learning. Therefore, without the distraction of constant redirection, it is my
intention to create a positive, fun atmosphere where the culture of the classroom is geared
towards having fun while we demonstrate respect. Once that is established the students will
enjoy the teacher when it is time to focus academically. The set rules establish the
student/teacher relationship. All four domains of the child will shine when a child is motivated,
and their spirits are up. When a childs spirits are up they perform better in all areas that they are
developing in socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physical.
In connection to what I learned about teachers setting rules and designing a classroom/ layout is
that teachers should keep in mind that Kindergartens like to play. A Kindergarten reward that
includes physical fun outweighs far more than a silly little token, trinket, or sticker. The reason
being is that a child benefits from the experience more so than a materialistic object.
