Impact of the implementation of student e-portfolios

PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to determine if the implementation of student e-portfolios actually leads toward
creating more meaningful learning experiences for students.

FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH QUESTION


What impact does maintaining a student e-portfolio have on the student engagement and academic
performance of students in the 8th grade AVID elective?

PARTICIPANTS
The participants will be students enrolled in the 8th grade AVID elective.

RESEARCHER
The AVID elective teacher will be leading the research by gathering data, analyzing it, and interpreting it as
well.

RESEARCH DESIGN TYPE


The research design will be mixed-methods, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative research
designs. More specifically, it will be a triangulation mixed-methods design.

LITERATURE REVIEW
The focus of my literature review will be on the impact of implementing student e-portfolios in the classroom
and how they contribute toward creating more meaningful learning experiences. An emphasis will be given on
the impact that maintaining student e-portfolios have on student engagement and academic performance in
other case studies.
