0: General Module Briefing

Introduction
This module goes straight to the most visible and well known aspect of aeronautics, an actual flying
aircraft. Participants in this module will be required to design, fabricate and fly an electric powered
Remote Controlled Aircraft or a pre-fabricated/fabricated quad copter, performing specified maneuvers,
completing challenges and overcoming an obstacle course.

The module is divided into two categories:

Fixed wing aircraft

In this category, fixed wing aircraft will be fabricated and flown at the event undertaking the different
tasks at hand such as lifting and transporting simulated passengers (payload), performing different
maneuvers and also displaying the ingenuity of aircraft design and aesthetic nuance. Judging will be
performed based on design report, knowledge of participants, aircraft design and mission performance
among other criteria.

All aircraft must be electric powered.

Quad copters
As the name implies, this module entertains the exciting yet challenging category of quadcopters. To
make this sub-module more exciting, pre-fabricated over the counter quadcopters have also been
allowed in this sub-module, with reasonable restrictions, Participants will be required to maneuver
through an indoor obstacle course among other activities.

Participants may enroll for any of the two categories (both if they feel they are up for the challenge).

Note: An initial technical specification document is attached with this document, for both fixed wing
category and quad copter category.
