ABSTRACT

Waste management in Malang Regency has not been performed optimally yet.
According to data from the Environmental Department of Malang Regency,
residential solid waste services in 2014 was 18.92% and transportation service
was 39%. Malang Regency which has 3,238.26 km2 of area has 100 Temporary
Storage of Waste, 39 3R Temporary Storage of Waste, and four landfill spread
over the regency. Not all people of Malang Regency has been served well by the
waste management system provided by the government. One of the four existing
landfill in Malang Regency is Talangagung Landfill. Talangagung Landfill is
located in Kepanjen and has been operating since 1989. Talangagung Landfill
has 4 ha of area and using semi-sanitary landfill system. The waste rates that
goes to this landfill is 280 m3/day. There are various facilities found in
Talangagung Landfill but some waste processing was not functioning optimally
and needs to be repaired, so waste management in Talangagung Landfill is still
need to be evaluated.
