Question 1: Difinitions

Intersymbol interference is when two overlap causing the receiver to decode the signal
incorrectly whereas aliasing is when a signal is sampled below its Nyquist rate which causes an
overlap in the sampled signal.

Delay Spread is the time is takes for signal to die down

Symbol Time is the original time of pulse

Question 2: How to reduce ISI?/////////////////////////////////////////////

 Use a matched filter

 Reduce the delay spread
 Pulse Shaping

Question 3: Error Performance Degradation.

Can be classified into two, the first is due to a decrease in received signal power or an increase in
noise and the second is due to signal distortion such as ISI.

Question 4: Matched Filter

Is a linear filter that is used for maximizing the signal to noise (SNR) in the presence of noise.

Question 5: Differences between matched filter and conventional filter
