About Woman Icons India
The Woman Icon Awards celebrates and honours the contributions of women who
have excelled in different fields. The initiative emphasizes the significant role played by women
in society thereby appreciating their outstanding performance and perseverance. The Woman
Icons are those who have displayed their exceptional capacity in the field of their choice.

The aim of the Woman Icons is to facilitate a platform for women achievers. In this way their
achievements is celebrated and showcased in the society. This will also empower the younger
generation and ignite them to be a noble contributor to the society.

Born on 24th September, 1957. Educated at Loreto

House, Calcutta, Presidency College, Calcutta and
Calcutta University College of Law. Enrolled as an
Advocate on 5th July, 1985 and practised both in
the Original and Appellate Sides of Calcutta High
Court in all branches of law except criminal law.
Appointed permanent Judge of Calcutta High
Court on 5th February, 2002.Transferred to Delhi
High Court w.e.f. 8th August, 2016. Elevated as
Chief Justice of Madras High Court and assumed
charge on 5.4.2017.
