The Georgia Student Health Survey 2.0 is an anonymous, statewide


survey instrument that identifies school climate issues that impact student
achievement. TCHS students will be taking this online survey during the month
of February. Each student has received a Passive Parental Permission
Form. Students do not need to return this form if participating in the survey.
However, student who elect to opt out need to return the signed form to his/her
2nd block teacher by the deadline. English and Spanish copies of the survey
are available for review at the TCHS Counseling Office front desk.

Scholarships – Apply! Apply! Apply! The Local Scholarship packet is


online (TCHS web page > Resources > Guidance >
Senior/Scholarship Info (in blue column on right side of page)) and
in the Guidance office. All TCHS seniors received a copy in their
tiftschools email. The deadline to submit all applications is Friday,
March 2 by 3:00 pm. Late submissions will not be accepted. Please
see your school counselor if you have any questions.

Thurs, 3/1 – Washington Youth Tour – application deadline – Win a Week-Long


Trip to Washington DC! As Georgia’s oldest leadership program for teens, the
Washington Youth Tour is designed to teach high school students about U.S.
history, government and the importance of public service. The dates for the
2018 Washington Youth Tour are June 7-14, 2018. Applications are available at
www.colquittemc.com and must be completed and returned to Colquitt EMC
no later than 5 PM Thursday March 1, 2018. The competition is open to all high
school juniors who:
*Are at least 16 years old
*Reside in a household served by Colquitt EMC
*Hold a GPA of 2.5 or higher
REMIND: This is a way to receive important updates in the way
that is most convenient for you. You choose how you see
messages with notifications on your phone, email or computer.
Register for Remind for each applicable class at TCHS – Class of
2017, Class of 2018 and Class of 2019. If you have a student in more than one class,

CONGRATULATIONS to the Lady Devils Basketball team for their Double


Overtime win over Camden on Friday.

CONGRATULATIONS to Tift Co Swimming & Diving Teams – for the first time in
TCHS swim history, our Swim Team made it to FINALS!! We were the only 7A
school outside of Atlanta to make it to finals in Swimming. We have not been to
finals since 1993. All individuals and teams finished in the Top 20 for each event.
Great Job!!
