FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT
PHILOSOPHY

He believed that a student must not just

learn on academic basis but also through
participation and experience. Taliesin West is
a successful attempt to provide this brand of
education.

Rather than following credits and grade

systems, this institute has 38 different fields
that each student must learn.

Students are required to participate in

construction , community service alongside
their regular classes.

“Architecture is life; or at least it

is life taking form.”
ARCHITECTURAL PLAN It was laid out on a strict northwest - southeast axis but
TALIESIN WEST construction happened in piece meal manner from the 1930s
to the 1940s
