increase adaptability within certain climates and being able to withstand more diseases.

a Jamaican scientist. The breed consists of approximately 80% Jersey, 15% Zebu and 5%
Holstein. The purpose of the Jamaica Hope was to adjust to the typical tropical climate; they
have a high resistance to ticks and tick borne diseases and can produce high quantities of milk
even on poor pasture land.

phenotypic characteristics, and adaptability to a wide range of environments. They originated
from the Dutch provinces of North Holland and Friesland, and what is now Schleswig-Holstein
in Northern Germany.
