Process

The popularity of astrological readings has waxed and waned since entering the Age of
Aquarius nearly 50 years ago, but a devoted fan base comprised of people who literally can't
start their day until they find out where their sun sign is positioned still exists in every corner
of the globe. If you sleuth out the location of your rising sign and always know where your
moon is located, your next step could be starting the astrology business you've been
threatening to launch since your moon glided into your house of business, pointing the way to
helping out those who share your passion.

Step 1

We Decide what type of astrology service is in our budget and ambitions will afford. We
may envision an elaborate retail shop filled with astrologically themed products and potions
auxiliary to individual reading and forecasting, tarot cards and whatever combination of
metaphysical services you've dreamed of including. Alternately, set up a virtual site on the
Internet to market your goods and services and forget about rent and overhead.

Step 2

Know our way around an ephemeris. This essential guidebook has been around for centuries
and holds the secrets to casting individual astrological charts, forecasting the future, assessing
personality traits and pinpointing strengths and weaknesses of individuals based upon the
time and place each was born. Without an ephemeris, it's virtually impossible to create a
person's astrological chart.

Step 3

Master the four categories into which astrological signs fit. Water signs (Cancer, Pisces and
Scorpio) exhibit vastly different personality traits from fire signs (Leo, Sagittarius and Aries).
Earthy souls (Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo) tend to be more grounded - particularly in
relation to the personalities of air signs (Libra, Aquarius and Gemini). You will also want to
be able to properly identify the names of the star formations that make up each of the 12
signs.

Step 4

Conceive a pricing menu. It's wise not to reinvent the wheel with everything else your
astrology service start-up requires , so survey area practitioners to see what the market will
bear. we might want to price your services below those of competitors because we are new to
the field, then raise fees as our expertise grows. Implement innovative marketing techniques
to jump-start client building.

Step 5

Seek clients. our outreach will be based on the amount of time, money and effort we want to
invest. If funds allow, newspaper ads soliciting clients is a good way to start our service, as is
launching a website to interest people in buying goods, ordering readings and obtaining other
services from you. Another great avenue for finding clients is to visit shops that sell
metaphysically influenced jewelry, clothing, art and other goods. Ask merchants to refer
clients in return for a small percentage of the fee you plan to charge.

Step 6

Affiliate with others in the profession to get advice and help building your business. For
example, the American Federation of Astrologers can offer the best professional tips around,
but your community Chamber of Commerce is more likely to result in leads and local clients.
Offer to speak at neighborhood clubs, libraries and other venues to share your passion for
astrology and introduce your services. Such engagements move your services out of the realm
of esoteric and flighty and help people see your astrology practice in much the same light as a
counselor, tax preparer or other service provider.

Step 7

Consider staging astrology parties at homes as well as offering your services pro bono for
fundraisers to raise awareness about the field of astrology while you also show your
community spirit. Making appearances at these sorts of venues will help expand and
legitimize your business.

Step 8

Attend to the "business" side of your business. This may sound redundant, but if you want to
be perceived as a legitimate entrepreneur, you must follow business practices. This means
you will need business and marketing plans, a separate checking account and all of the other
systems and practices others follow to stay focused on the future growth of their businesses.
