"Providing today's society with a 'very deep awareness of the vital importance of
infant and childhood sexuality' is now the primary goal of SIECUS"
"... incest between adults and younger children can also prove to be a
satisfying and enriching experience. Incestuous relationships can -- and
do -- work out well."
-- Wardell B. Pomeroy of Planned Parenthood. "A New Look at Incest,"
Forum Magazine, November 1976, pages 84 to 89.
"I have known cases of farm boys who have had a loving sexual
relationship with an animal and who felt good about their behavior
until they got to college, where they learned for the first time that what
they had done was 'abnormal.' Then they were upset."
-- Wardell Pomeroy, Ph.D. Boys and Sex. Delacorte Press, New York,
1981. Pages 171 and 172. This book is used in numerous public school
systems in the United States.
Dutch legislator, Edward Brongersma, was guest speaker at a 1983 New York
University seminar taught by Deryck Calderwood. Mr. Brongersma
established a foundation to "research sexual lives of children....with emphasis
on......sexual relationships between children and adults...." As a legislator he
tried to change pedophilia laws: "contacts which are freely consented should
not be forbidden by law." Brongersma co-edited a book which included
"Man-Boy Love and the American Gay Movement" by David Thorstad,
founder of North American Man/Boy Lovers Association. (NAMBLA) The
objectives of the Edward Brongersma Foundation are endorsed in the
introduction in Brongersma's book, LOVING BOYS. (British Journal of
Criminology. 20:20 1980 p 21)
"The fact that few investigators have examined the sexuality of people early in the
life span has been attributed by John Money to the taboos that surround childhood
eroticism."
(SIECUS report May/July 1982. Elizabeth Allgeier p.8)
Back in 1970, sex research historian Edward Brecher predicted that after the
homosexual taboo began to break down, incest as the last social taboo would
soon follow suit. At a meeting of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex
(SSSS) a few months later, Mary Calderone, Wardell Pomeroy and Albert
Ellis discussed Ed's prediction..... the famous Kinsey studies of human
sexuality, inadvertently gathered what was to remain for many years the
largest data base with respect to incest......So far this material remains
unpublished by the Institute, on the basis that 'the population is not ready for
it.' (Dealing with the Last Taboo. SIECUS Report May 1979 p 1)
"Certain values regarding adult sexuality are now in various stages of evolution.
But we are not yet accustomed to discussing values relating to the sexuality of
childhood, simply because we are not yet accustomed to accepting the simple fact
that children are sexual."
(Mary Calderone "Children, Values, and Sexuality." SIECUS Report November
1981, p. 10)
