Bucks New University, International Student Application form –

Notes for Guidance


Please read and understand the below information prior to completing the application form.
You should also read the Bucks web site and marketing literature to familiarise yourself with
the course(s) you are applying for in terms of entry requirements and content.

The information you provide on your application form will be used for the following purposes
only:

For statutory reporting purposes.


To enable your application for entry to be considered.
To enable the Institution to initiate your student record.

Please complete the application form in FULL and in neat handwriting or typed, using
BLOCK CAPITALS.

Section Guidance
1. Personal details Please complete information in full. Please
complete details as they appear in your
passport.
2. Immigration, fees and residency Please complete details as appears in your
passport.
Please ensure dates are accurate.

3. English Level Please provide information of your most recent


English qualification first.
If you are in the UK you may be able to do the
Bucks English Test
4. Where did you hear about Bucks Please state details of College or agent if
applicable
5. Ethnicity Please tick one box as applicable.
6. Disability Please tick all boxes that apply. This information
will be used to ensure additional support is
provided in terms of study and accommodation if
required. This information will be passed to the
Disabilities Support Service, who may contact
you regarding your support needs.
7. Current and previous education Please complete in full, stating your most recent
and qualifications education experience or qualification first.

8. Current and previous Please complete in full, stating your most recent
employment employment first. Include paid and unpaid, full
and part time in your home or outside.
9. Personal statement / statement Please complete in full. This section is very
of purpose important and is your opportunity to demonstrate
to admissions and tutors that you have the
experience and knowledge to complete the
course successfully. You should reflect on
previous experience, why you have selected the
course and your future aspirations. If you have
been out of education for a while please outline
any relevant experience in lieu of education.
You may also wish to explain breaks in your
career or study, voluntary work etc.
10. References References are required for the MBA and all
Nursing and Social Work related courses.
Please complete in full. We will contact both
referees. Please consult course literature to see
specific reference requirements.
11. Criminal convictions You need to declare any and all criminal
convictions that are not regarded as spent under
the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, 1974. For
courses leading to professional qualifications,
you must declare spent convictions.
12. Declaration Any offer of a place you may receive is made on
the understanding that in accepting it, you agree
to abide by the rules and regulations of the
institution. In signing this form, you are
confirming your agreement to this and
confirming the information you have supplied is
correct.
