Are you a homeowner & a City of New Britain taxpayer that lives within the
immediate surrounding neighborhoods of CCSU? Have you lived here long enough
to recognize that about 20% these houses are made up of Off-Campus homes that
house Students, Student Athletes, & Graduate students that attend CCSU?
Are you sick and tired of the Students’ behaviors that are constantly causing
disturbances, subjecting themselves and others to unsafe living environments
without ramifications or consequences?
o House Parties involving underage drinking and illegal substance abuse
o Causing damage in and around the houses they live in
o Loud music
o Trespassing
o Loitering
o Committing public indecency
o Littering
o Keeping you up at all hours of the night
And all you do, time after time after time is call the police.
Have you noticed that when the police show up, all they do is break up the parties
and tell the Students to go home. And we all know what happens next... The
students walk in packs of 50 down the street causing even more disturbances. The
police leave as the party empties out and the moment the police turn the next
corner, the Students walk around the block and file into the next Off-Campus
Students’ rental house and the next party begins.
As you may or may not know, the Police never ticket the Students who are
hosting these parties and certainly never ticket the Students attending these
parties. Current restrictions prevent CCSU from enforcing an off-campus security
protocol that consistently aligns with the University’s code of conduct, although
they are responsible for the education and safety of the students, faculty and
community.

o Security Program Limitations (no off campus system/operation)
o Disconnect between CCSU and local landlords
o Unofficial partnership with City of New Britain Police Department

Issues and challenges caused by off-campus housing are negatively effecting the
entire community at various degrees making the living environment
unmanageable. CCSU Living provides an online platform that creates a
comprehensive, trackable and incentivized way of living in a currently disruptive

enforcement of off-campus community service in order to clean up your
neighborhoods and also some type of academic probation if the actions are

Through the partnership of CCSU and Local Police, CCSU LIVING will begin to get
Police to begin ticketing the Students that are hosting the parties, the students
attending the parties, and even the landlords for incidents that include disturbing

Most importantly, CCSU LIVING will give homeowners & City of New Britain
