Internship Program Code of Conduct for Interns

Interns will be expected to act in a professional and ethical manner at all times. The intern's
conduct should make the employer want to host interns from the SJPI in the future.

The following governs all interns of the SJPI during the internship period:

 Smoking, possession or use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is strictly

forbidden.
 Unprofessional behavior such as harassment, abusive language, and gambling are
strictly forbidden.
 Acceptable safety behaviors for offices, workshops and labs must be observed, and
followed, at all times.
 Confidentiality regarding work-related projects and personnel must be maintained.
 Familiarization with, and adherence to, relevant organizational arrangements,
procedures, and functions are the responsibility of all interns.

Interns must:

 adhere to the company’s dress code or in the absence of such, wear business attire.
 maintain a positive attitude throughout the internship.
 be punctual for work and meet deadlines for all assignments.
 find out what constitutes a permissible work absence and the person to notify
in such cases.
 desist from conducting personal business during work hours (e-mails, cell phones,
and internet).
 listen actively and ask questions when in doubt.
 be honest at all times.
 graciously accept constructive criticism and continuously strive for improvement.
 immediately report to the Liaison Office any changes in work schedule,
supervision, or problems at the worksite.

I agree to the above stated Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology Code of Conduct
for interns and will make every effort to abide by it.
