Wk.

- Gathered information by asking questions about Balon palapag to understand and determine
their needs in a web site like the necessary functions, capabilities, or characteristics.
- Planned the technologies to be implemented (wordpress), elements to be incorporated
(themes, plugins like contact forms, login forms, workflow process manager, etc.) and website
content (pictures, slides, sections, etc).
- Designed the website by creating 3 demo websites which were later presented to the Balon
Palapag board members to help them conceptualize what the final design will look like.

Wk 2

Designing continuation and Layouting

- Finalized the design with the template chosen by Mr. Eden for each of the web pages.
- Build the front end of the website according to the design with the use of Salient theme.

From the 3 demos, Mr. Eden chose which templates for each of the pages of the site would have. After
the templates were selected and the design was finalized the web site itself is created. In layouting the
website I made use of dummy contents to give the site a look.

Wk 3

Editing photos and styling the website

- Edited photos and collected articles used as dummy contents to give the site a look.
- Styled the website color-wise and font-wise.

While waiting for the inputs (articles, pictures, etc), I with the immersion students edited photos that
serves as dummy photos for the headers of the categories. In this week, I also did some tweaks to the
website color-wise and font-wise.

Wk 4

- Finalized the front-end layout by implementing some suggestions of Sir Eden upon the checking
of the website. This included adding category widget in the landing page and adding recent post
widget in the category pages.

Wk 5

Plugin searching and set up

Though wordpress supports basic editorial workflow processes.

Looked for a simple, intuitive and structured plugin for managing the editorial workflow and handling all
the data regarding the process levels.

Met with the Editor in chief regarding the editorial workflow and

- Discussed the editorial workflow with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Implemeted the workflow set-up with Oasis.
Wk 6

- Searching and selecting a reliable and cheap web-host that supports the themes and plug-ins utilized in
the developed Website.

- Migration of the Balon Palapag to a live site.

Wk 7

- Training of the BP editorial members.


- Adding workflows for unassigned articles.

Wk 8

- Inserting of the articles and pictures collected from the Balon Palapag team.
- Checking Immersion students’ outputs.
