ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

Introduction.

The environment and gender have lot many points of convergence. Gender dimension and all
those issues with environment and rest on two basic claims. Firstly Environment is a
gendered issue as both men and women stand in a different relationship to the environment
and secondly men and women have more responsiveness towards nature and in protecting it.
But in reality no body cares the environment eventhough its gives us only benefits. Lot many
things that existed previously in earth extinguished because of the behaviour of humans. But
women are more associated in preventing environment. Women Symbolize 'Prakriti' means
'Nature' in Indian Philosophy She creates and nurtures the creation to bloom. Both women
and nature have been considered as subordinates entities by men throughout history, which
conveys a close relationship between them. Some scholars are of the opinion that men had
degraded the physical environment abruptly while they had dominance over women and
women‟s great investment in sustainability of environment. Whereas some other have
theorized that women would protect the Earth better than men if in power eventhough there is
no proper researches on this aspect but still it has a special value system about environmental
issues. In this paper the researcher will be dealing with the role aof women in the
