What was Russia's role in Germany's invasion of Poland?

The initial invasion of Poland was done by German under Hitler. The previous pact allowed

German to take their part of Poland while Russia was allowed to take theirs too. While German

invaded Poland the had gone far east but little did they know that the Russians were also coming

to the rescue of their blood brothers, the Ukrainians. When the two forces met some of the Polish

soldiers surrendered willingly to Russian military forces because they did not want to be

captured by the German forces. However, it is of the essence to note that the Polish formally

never surrendered: the fact that they were invaded by two world superpowers clearly points out

that they were overrun. The German forces avoided any confrontation with the Russian forces

thus surrendering all the Polish captives they had captured to them. At the end of the invasion,

the Russian forces had rescued thirteen million of their citizens and the polish captives.

Ch. 2: How was Norway strategically important to Germany?

In a nutshell, Norway was strategically important to Germany for four main reasons: the iron ore

that was imported from Sweden had to pass through Norwegian water territory. This means that

the only way to guarantee free movement of iron ore was to control Norway. The second reason

was for the military purpose; the German warships had no direct access to the Atlantic Ocean so

the had to move towards the North Sea and in this case their actions and manoeuvres visible

Royal Naval. In this case, setting up in Norway would offer them a safer entry into trade routes

of Atlanta and the only way to achieve all this was to have Norway under their control. The third

reason was the awareness that Germany had on the secret plan by the British and French to make

Northern Norway their territory; this would have impacted their trade of iron ore. and to some

extent it would terminate their Swedish iron ore supply completely thus the strategists of German

considered occupying Norway a more viable option. Another reason was the NSDAP belief that

the Germany and Norwegian cousins would receive each other with open arms.

Why did? German aggression succeeded against France

Fairly enough, every warfare that Germany triumphed they took a little time with exception of

Russia and England. This is attributed to the training organization in warfare and expert in swift

attack and gave them an advantage over their opponents as they would get their opponents flat-

footed. Defeating Russian with these tactics was impossible as the Russian army was also well

trained in these tactics. As for England, its separation by Sea would only make the fast attack by

airstrike which is not enough.

Ch. 3: How did German successes embolden Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria?

Initially, Hungary and Bulgaria and Italy were neutral states then later became allied to Germany

and thus any success of Germany encouraged them more to take the side of Germany.

What might explain the initial success of the German invasion of Russia? Yet why couldn't

they defeat Russia quickly?

Even though the Russian army was known as one of the strongest but surprisingly at the end of

day one of Germany invasion the Germany forces had caused destruction to nearly 1000 aircraft

of soviet. This was despite their toughness and the superior war machinery they had.

The whole surprise was caused by their disorganization that Germany capitalized on. However,

the Germany army could not defeat the Russian army because of the obvious reason of the large

number of their army which was well equipped only lacking organization and poor orders.

Turning points: How do Hough and Richards explain why the Germans lost the Battle of Britain.

The major factors that caused the Germany loss of the battle among others are:

Britain was an Island hence finding a strategic means of transport the troops was a difficult task.

The British aircrafts also performed better than German aircraft and most importantly the British

had already adapted modern warfare hence the Germany military which was not much updated.
