5 tourist Destinations in Antique, Philippines

Mayad nga aga sa inyo nga tanan! to translate that, good morning to all of you. Welcome to the
Marble central Panay, Antique! My name____________, you can call me______ or ate _____and
I will be your tour guide for 2 days.

So Antique is Antique (Pronunciation: /ɑːnˈtiːkɛ/) or (/ɑːnˈtiːkɛ/) is a province of


the Philippines located in the region of Western Visayas. With its capital, San Jose. Antique was
one of the three sakup (districts) of Panay before Spanish colonizers arrived on the islands. The
province was known at that time as Hantík, the local name for the large black ants found on the
island The Spanish chroniclers, influenced by the French, recorded the region's name
as Hantique, which was then read as 'antique (silent 'h'). The locals then pronounced the name
into its present name "Antique" (än-ti-ké)

In my watch its 6:30am so please set your time at 6:30 in the morning to avoid conflict in our
schedule.

But before we start our adventure, I would like to give you some reminders, 1st if you can’t hear me

So a background of our itinerary, we’ll start off from Malumpati cold spring then next is to the
Malalison island then eat our lunch then we’re going to the Kayak inn the next day we’re going the
Antique Rice Terraces lastly ,go to Seco Island and head back to the airport.

1. And we’re now here in Malumpati Cold Spring, as you can see, it has blue green crystal
clear water and the temperature is normally cool and cold enough to chill our drinks. So
from here, the water is flowing all the way to the Bugang River which is known to be the
Cleanest river in the Philippines. So this is 20 mtrs deep, you can swim, jump off the diving
platforms or like what the locals do, from the trees and if you don’t feel like it , you can just
hop on the bamboo raft and cruise away.
So I’ll be leaving you an hour and a half to take pictures and enjoy the cold spring, so

2. And we’re now here in Culasi, Antique & we’re on our way to the Malalison Island and right
now before going there, we’re falling in line because we’re gonna experience the Pangluy-a
, a traditional blessing given upon arrival of the tourists, so this serves as a protection from
unpleasant spirits and for us to have a good stay in the island.

So as we’re trekking, a brief trivia, Malalison has been popularly called the “Batanes of
Antique”.
one version of the local legend has it that the islands of Culasi were the three children of
Madja-as and Kanlaon, namely Batbatan, Maningning, and Mararison. Maningning was the
lazy beautiful sister, Batbatan the disrespectful one, and Mararison the disobedient one.
They were punished and kept away from their mother, Madja-as.You’ll see these three
islands when you climb the summit of Mount Madja-as, the highest peak in Panay Island.*

So are we tired yet? Don’t worry because there’s a delicious feast waiting for us.
3. And we’re now here in our third destination, the Kayak Inn so a reminder please wear your
life jackets properly secure your belongings and be ready for our kayaking adventure here
in the Tibiao River.

For our second activity now we’re experiencing the fish spa which they call it here as
“therafish”

And for our third activity, Now we’re inside the huge cauldron and yes taking a hot bath. it’s
their own version of Jacuzzi. Dipping ourselves in a kawa filled with warm water with local
herbs and flowers. so its soothing aroma not just provide relaxation but also helps to cure
some health problems

Now we’re on our way to vbots lutong bahay to have our breakfast.

4. We’re now here in Antique Rice Terraces in San Remigio. We’re now trekking to reach the
location of the terraces, so this is about 5 kilometers of uphill slopes but don’t worry, once we
get to the top, it’s a perfect reward and also perfect for taking Instagram worthy pictures. This is
a 600 hectare taramnan , a 200 year well preserved tradition basking in the sun. the free
flowing bodies of water running through comes from the two majestic iglait and igtamoni falls
and people from here still uses the primary code of exchange which is the barter system.

So it’s already 12 in the afternoon and we’re now going to eat our lunch at one of the famous
local eatery in antique which is the florings carinderia.DID YOU HAVE A GOOD LUNCH?

5. And Finally, we’re now here in the Seco island, this is a 1.5 kilometer stretch of fine white
sand beach with turquoise water. This island is full of chillaxing more on chill and relax, when
you look around, there’s no houses, electricity and wifi. So this is the best place to perform
which needed soul searching, bonding with family and friends. We could also go swimming,
island trekking, fishing or maybe beach volleyball? This is the perfect island getaway for those
who want to escape the city.
