The Demonstrations of Public Transportation Drivers

Lately in Malang city widely used transportation based online such as gojek,
oke jeck, grab etc. The online transportation give easiness for customers with the
facilities offered such as pick up, food ordering and delivery service. Because of the
reason many user are turning to the online transportation. On the other hand, the
public transportation drivers felt aggrieved because customer presentation is
decreased.
In the end was happen demonstrations to express their aspirations containing
dismiss about the demands of the online transportation in order not operating bacause
it cause many disadvantage for them. The demonstrations is based in Malang town
hall and closing acces road, so that make traffic jam. The drivers of public
transportation is also off from work for a few days. This case to delays the activity of
people who use public transportation .
Indeed in Indonesia demonstrations is allowed in the right way stipulated in
law No. 9 of 1998. Refer to the demonstrations way , they don’t break the rules but
their demands cause a lot of of losses for other people and also there some cases of
violence that committed by public transportation drivers to the online transportation
drivers.
Responding to the demands of the demonstration of public transportation
drivers. We don’t agree because violate the human right to find a job, the online
transportation is a job which is permitted and by they doing off from work for a while
that harm for people who use public transportation because not all use the online
transportation. In addition the goverment has give easiness to citizen of Malang with
provide free public transportation until the demostrations have done, and there are also
some volunteers who use their personal vehicles to deliver and pick up the people who
normally use public transportation.
There are several solutions to Goverment and Public Transportation drivers.
Solution for Goverment should stipulated rules that are not harm to both sides, like in
Jakarta succesfully implementing regulations have been obedient by both sides.
Solution for Public Transportation drivers should be more wise in confront the
technological development.
