Reader One
Just before they shared that first communion, Jesus said, "One of
you will betray me," but no one could believe it. They had all
believed in Jesus' divine message, and they had all devoted their
lives to Christ. But one had not the faith to be strong. Jesus was
betrayed by one who sat at his table, ate of the bread and took the
wine.
Reader Two
After supper was finished, Jesus quietly told his disciples that they
too would betray him, just as when the shepherd is killed, the
sheep would scatter. The disciples murmured in disbelief. Jesus
assured them, "Afterward, I will arise and go before you to
Galilee." He then went to pray in the garden of Gethsemane. While
he prayed, he asked his disciples to stand watch, but twice they
could not keep their promise, falling asleep just when he needed
them.

Reader One
In the garden, Judas gave Jesus the kiss - a kiss which was a secret
sign to the awaiting soldiers. when Judas delivered that kiss, the
soldiers seized Jesus and took him away, and all of the disciples
fled in fear. All this was done that the prophets might be fulfilled.
Peter, alone, followed from afar, hiding among the servants at the
palace, watching as the priests and elders sought false witness
against Jesus.
