Introduction

STAAD.Pro is a structural analysis design program software. It includes a state of the art user
interface, visualization tools and international design codes. It is used for 3D model generation, analysis
and multi-material design. It is one of the software applications created to hel structural engineers to
automate their tasks and to remove the tedious and long procedures of the manual methods.

This assignment required us to model a twin towers building according to the given dimensions,
sizes, loading, support condition and materials.

Discussion

We do have problems on combining the twin towers with the sky bridge and put the wind load.
After we finished designing the complete twin towers with its materials, there was no error but when
we started put the wind load, there were errors. We discussed with our friends about the commands
used on wind load.

We referred to all the notes given and internet to model a twin towers building. We discussed a
lot within our group members on how to combined sky bridge with the twin towers, how to define the
material, how to put the supports, how to put the loads and the most difficult one is to make sure there
will be no errors when we analyze.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this assignment taught us many things about Staad Pro and make us developed all
the notes given to model a twin tower building. Our twin tower building has 0 error, 30 warnings and 19
notes. To make it perfect with no errors, warnings and notes we have to study more and do many
exercises.

The applications of this software are being used widely in industry. Civil engineering’s
company might want a worker who has knowledge in Staad Pro. We hope that all the things that
we learned in class will be helpful to us when we go for a practical or work in a company.
