Abstract
This report is first attempt of mine .A report on sound pollution is a report which helps
to minimize the sound pollution. This is one of the reports which is based on the
research and findings. The information given in the report are collected through
various sources this report covers all the some information that is needed to
minimize the pollution. It will be really fruitful to our college premises as well as
experts who have always keen interest about the environment. This report can
effectively handle the situations and provide an easy way to solve the
problems related to the sound pollutions. The use of aeroplane and helicopter near
residential area can bring the tremendous change in the environment. For this we
need to find out perfect location to make airport.
Introduction
A low sound is pleasant whereas a loud sound is unpleasant and is commonly
referred to as ‘noise’. Noise can be defined as an unpleasant and unwanted sound at
a wrong time and at a wrong place. Noise is a physical form of pollution and is not
directly harmful to the life supporting systems namely air, soil and water. Its effects
are more directly on the receiver i.e., man. Noise pollution is the result of modern
industrialised urban life and congestion due to over population. Even though noise
pollution is not fatal to human life, yet its importance cannot be overlooked because
repeated exposure to noise reduces the sleeping hours and productivity or efficiency
of human beings. It affects the peace of mind and invades the privacy of human
beings.
Major source of this noise pollution in our college is domestic airport that is situated
near college premises.
Existing situation
Apart from various kinds of environment pollution, "sound pollution" too has turned
into an intense test for human well being in Nepal. WHO have just said that the
protected commotion level for a city is 45 decibels. The nonstop noise level in
abundance of 90 decibel scan cause loss of hearing and irreversible changes in
nervous system. Be that as it may, in Nepal there is no arrangement for measuring
and controlling the noise level. In the created nations, the noise level exists in low
level despite the fact that the quantity of vehicles is very high. Be that as it may, in
Nepal it is the quite recently inverse number of vehicles is low and the level of noise
is high, said Dr. Mathura Prasad Shrestha, director of Sources Centre for Primary
Health Care (RECPHEC).Due to the uncontrolled and pointless noise pollution
delivered by a few motorbikes and another vehicles, the individuals living at the city
are at a high danger of different health hazards, he added. Due to the impact of
NOISE contamination, individuals may suffers from the illnesses, for example, hard
hearing, hearing loss, fatigue, aggravation, migraine, discourse and rest unsettling
influence, high blood weight, cardiovascular infection, stomach related problem,
nausea, absence of fixation and diminished execution,

Sound mitigation
Sound mitigation is a set of strategies to reduce noise pollution. The main areas of
noise mitigation or abatement are transportation noise control, architectural design,
and occupational noise control. Aircraft noise are the most pervasive sources of
environmental noise in our college, and remarkably little change has been effected in
source control in these areas since the start of the problem, a possible exception
being the development of hybrid and electric vehicles. Multiple techniques have been
developed to address interior sound levels, many of which are encouraged by local
building codes; in the best case of project designs, planners are encouraged to work
with design engineers to examine tradeoffs of airport design and architectural
design. These techniques include design of exterior walls, party walls and
floor/ceiling assemblies. Many of these techniques rely upon materials science
applications of constructing sound baffles rousing sound absorbing liners for
interior spaces. For college premises college make sound proof classroom and can
use noise barriers.
Conclusion
Thus, we must with our own or the government effort should minimize the sound
pollution. If this report is completed in time, it would bring the institute into the new
era. Nepal has been lagging behind to control the sound pollution in the city areas.
So this report would provide some relief to the people if the information’s covered by
this report is properly implemented. This report will be a sign of inspire for
the people to minimize the sound pollution.
