Information for Substitute

Hello!
First of all, thank you for your help! I am leaving you with some information
regarding the class. This should help you through the day. If you need any additional
information, Ms. Khan in room 305 should be able to help. She is one of my co-
teachers and she will be able to provide you with more guidance.

Daily Class Events

7:30-7:55 Breakfast Go to the cafeteria to
supervise students and
bring them back for class.
Not all students will arrive
for breakfast.
8:00 If a student is not in
class by 8:05, they are
marked tardy.
Beginning of class.
11:00 – 11:45 Lunch Walk students to the
cafeteria and help them
through the lunch line.

12:00-12:15 Recess Walk students to the


playground and monitor
them. If the weather is
rainy or too cold, hold
recess inside using the
centers.
Student routines are
3:30 End of Class to be followed. Any
exceptions will be
listed in the student
notes section.

Routines
Event Note
Centers Students place their IDs on the center
chart of their choosing (6 to a center).
They switch every 15 minutes.

Class Activities Students will quietly choose their


activity and work on it either
independently or in pairs. The activity
details are in the lesson plans.

Restrooms Students are to obtain line up for the


restroom at the beginning of class,
before lunch, and after recess. Any
other time, students will get a hall pass.

Wish Well If a student is absent, they will be


added to the Wish Well Board on the
wall. Classmates will sing the “Wish
Well” song (on the board.)
Lines Students will line up quietly in the
order that they finish their work. Each
day, there will be a special helper to
lead to line (determined by drawing
from the name cup.)
Quiet Place If a student gets upset or needs to
compose him or herself, they can go to
the quiet place in class to cool down.
Departure Students will line up quietly at the end
of class. Students who ride the bus will
join the bus line and other students are
to be picked up by appropriate
caregivers.
