Dear Mr. Johanson,

I would personally like to thank you and your city for being a place of fond memories for my family and I. I am
a Utah native from Sandy City close to Salt Lake. I have loved growing up so close to the mountains, but one of
my favorite things to do is go down to the City of Moab and explore all of the lovely places that the city has to
offer.

The last four years I have been an engineering student at the University of Utah as well as Salt Lake
Community College, and I have come to love the aspects of civil engineering. Growing up in a little city like
Sandy I appreciate all the beautiful things around me and during my education I learned how important cities
are to all those who live in them and visit them. Being a Civil Engineer I have a deep desire to work for a city
and be able to make sure that everyone can enjoy is wonders.

I would like to write you today about your job opening as a City Civil Engineer. My love for the outdoors led
me to look straight at your city to see if there was any way I could help make the experiences more enjoyable
to all those who come to Moab. I am super excited to see that there is a job opening in my field of work. I am
also excited to see that you work as an Assistant City Engineer, I would love to work alongside someone who
knows the ropes and would help me become the best possible engineer I can be.

Thank you for making the City of Moab a special place for me and my loved ones. Thank you for your time and
effort spent on going over my resume. I am excited to even be considered for such an amazing job
opportunity as this.
