Languages in the education system (Chapter II)

Article 3. The languages of education.

The Valencian school system has Valencian as the language of the community, Spanish as the
official language of the state and English as the language of international communication.

Article 5. The languages in the centre.

Teachers will use the appropriate teaching languages, either orally and in writing, in the
subjects they teach. Schools have to promote normal use of Valencian in accordance with the
provisions of Law 4/1983.

Article 6. The languages of the students

The centres, taking care of the minorities with own languages different from the languages of
the teaching, will make present these languages and the cultures that represent in the social
communication and in the itinerary curricular.

Article 7. The educational linguistic model of the Valencian educational system.

The Educational Administration establishes an educational linguistic model constituted by

three areas: the Institutional framework, the Centre language project and the didactic
intervention in the classroom
