ABSTRACT
The construction schedule is one of the most powerful management tools at the
service of the construction manager. A well-planned and realistic schedule that takes
into account as any variables as possible will help keep a construction project moving
along smoothly, alert the construction manager when the project is about to run into
difficulties or disadvantages , and help make needed adjustments when unforeseen
circumstances arise. In this report we have given a brief introduction to construction
project scheduling, the objectives, their importance and the importance of scheduling
as a whole. After this we have discussed in detail the elements of construction
project scheduling; project, program, project planning, project scheduling. Different
topics regarding scheduling such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Critical Path
Method (CPM) have been discussed. Cost of a construction project is also closely
linked factor to the schedule of the project. Therefore mentioned the different cost
estimation methods have been mentioned, as well as calculating the estimates for the
building we have chosen.
