Doklam Crisis
1. Doklam plateau = lies at a tri-junction between the India,
China, and Bhutan
2. It started when India (Indian Army) objected a road
construction by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China
in the Doklam plateau which China claims to be a part of its
Donglang region
3. India and Bhutan recognise it as Doklam, a Bhutan territory.
4. China accused Indian troops of entering in its territory
5. China stopped the passage pilgrims heading toward
Kailash-Mansarovar through the Nathu La pass, Sikkim.

• A stock split is a decision by a company's board of directors


to increase the number of shares that are outstanding by
issuing more shares to current shareholders.
• For example, in a 2-for-1 stock split, an additional share is
given for each share held by a shareholder.
• So, if a company had 10 million shares outstanding before
the split, it will have 20 million shares outstanding
• After a split, the stock price will be reduced since the
number of shares outstanding has increased. In the example
of a 2-for-1 split, the share price will be halved.

• It is the world’s largest collection of floating
trash and perhaps the most famous.
• An estimated 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic
weighing 80,000 metric tons are currently afloat in this area
which is located halfway between Hawaii and California.
• It is three times the size of continental France.
• Patch was discovered in 1997 by Charles Moore, a yachtsman
who had sailed through a pile of floating plastic bottles and
other debris on his Way home to Los Angeles.
• Scientists estimate that 20% of the debris is from 2011

1. The first-ever survey of drug-resistant (DR) tuberculosis (TB)


has found that over a quarter of patients in India could be
resistant to one or more drugs that can cure them.
