Time for the country to
stand with the artists

Are we really living in the world's largest democracy where
freedom of expression is guaranteed by the Constitution. This
question acquires to think about it once again following the
attack on film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali by members of
the Rajput Karni Sena – the same group that had protested
against Ashutosh Gowariker's 2008 film Jodhaa Akbar.
Bhansali was shooting at the Jaigarh fort near Jaipur for his
film on Chittorgarh queen Padmavati. The Karni Sena
members felt that he was portraying 'their' queen Padmavati
in an unfavourable light. Hence, its outraged 'sainiks' felt they
had the right to slap him and vandalise the set. The Sena was
particularly angry about a so-called dream sequence in the
film where Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji were to be shown
romantically. Both Bhansali and the producers of Padmavati,
Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, have clarified that there was no
such dream sequence in the film to begin with. The film
director has decided now not to shoot in Rajasthan. There has
been not a word of condemnation of this incident by chief
minister Vasundhara Raje who is, no doubt, aware that the
Rajputs are a powerful vote bank. Nor have any of the
attackers been arrested. Instead, an unnecessarily repentant
Bhansali has meekly clarified that his film does not contain
anything that will hurt the sentiments of the Karni Sena. But
matters have not ended here. After Bhansali's apologetic
clarifications, the Sena has asked that the name of the film be
changed, and the final product subjected to a pre-release
screening to obtain its clearance. Surendra Jain, general
secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, has dared Bhansali to
shoot his film in any other part of the country or to release his
film. Akhilesh Khandelwal, a BJP leader from Madhya
Pradesh, has gone further. He has issued something akin to a
fatwa, where anybody who performs the pious duty of
throwing a shoe at Bhansali will be given an award of Rs
10,000. Expectedly, Union minister Giriraj Singh has jumped
into the fray by saying that Padmavati was being shown in a
bad light only because she was a Hindu. The fact that is
undigestable is the state . Governments are mandated to
maintain law and order, and to protect the citizen from
criminal violence or intimidation. But, as we saw earlier in the
case of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threat
against Karan Johar's film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the state
becomes a complicit spectator. MNS leader Raj Thackeray
issued a firman that multiplexes showing this film will be
vandalised because one of the actors, Fawad Khan, was a
Pakistani. The threat was issued openly and with impunity.
The Maharashtra government, instead of acting immediately
against such vandals, twisted their heads against the issue.
Instead the victim is seen surrendering in front of these
vandals. After being slapped around by the Karni Sena, the
producers of Padmavati sent an assurance to their hecklers
that they would do nothing to hurt their sentiments. No
criminal cases were filed or apologies sought. Instead, the
best that Bhansali could offer was to say that he will not shoot
in Rajasthan. Similarly, Karan Johar and Shahrukh khan was
happy to sit with Raj Thackeray and conciliate him while
Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra who is
meant to act against those who break the law, mediated. This
is a frightening situation in a country which gives the right to
everyone to express without any boundation. The film
fraternity has protested the attack against Bhansali and even
urged the government to take right steps against it but when,
next time, they are subjected to such violent intimidation, will
they fight back or tamely capitulate? Will the country with
democratic government will understand that there are other
ways to solve the matter other than violence. Will the state
stand up for the law or align itself with the perpetrators? Will
those who believe they can use violence to silence those will
continue without any punishment? One thing is certain that
these violence made by groups like the Karni Sena, seriously
impairs India's democracy .

EFFECTS OF DEMONITISATION

Demonitisation have a great impact on the economy of India. It have affected the economic condition
of our country adversely. Like in our country cash is used in essential amount instead of using ATM.
In demonitisation period people faced many problems as all Rs.500 and Rs. 1000 were become
illegal in one night. Due to this the shortage of even the legal Rs.50 and Rs.100 notes arised. And this
p r o b l e m o f demonitisation have also
increased the use of digital payment like paytm and
online transactions. As in India mostly payment if done
with cash so many markets were in lost as all the
consumptionwas based on cash only. Even the best
impact of demonitisation was on elections. As the political
leaders use undeclared money to ake the public to vote
them. And the impact of demonitisation was held in the
upcoming electios 2017. Mainly it effected the main cities
like Uttar Pradesh and Punjab as both the cities political
parties spend a lot of money in previous elections time.
Fake Indian currency notes(FICN) is reduced to some
level as it is used in terror funding mostly in the areas of
Jammu and Kashmir and even naxalite practise. Demonitisation also take out the blackmoney in
theform of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes. Blackmoney is the main reason which resisted to some levels.
Demonitisation also diminishes the scenario of corruption and black money through some levels.
This decission was the best step which was made by prime minister Narendra Modi in one night and it
was the sudden decision which even not allowed anyone to deposit the money or withdrawthe money
in banksas in one night the currency becomes a piece of paper which is of no worth. In this way
demonitisation effected the country fully in good and bad way. Hence, one decision changed the
scenario of economic status of our country . Even the GDP was also effected by this as people were
resisted only to cash only and no one have enough cash with them as all the money was in bank. Due
to demonitisation on everyone faced lot pf difficulties even in departmental stores ,hotels and small
vendor shops . In this way demonitisation effected a lot and it also changed the economic phase of our
country as it have some disadvantages and advantages also but does not effected a lot adverse to our
country.

The more you will travel,the more you will learn. It does not matter
what you do for a living or how much you earn - make it a point to
venture out. The memories that you will make on your trips will fuel
you to go on in life. Experiment on your travel style depending
onthe place and budget, be flexible while travelling. Not only on
the way of travelling but also experiment with the foods, try
something new to cheer up your taste buds. (must pack items -
camera, maps). There is always a solution for everything, one must
never panic, and instead think and find a solution. Travelling is a
whole new experience as everytime you travel it leads to
sometimes best memories and sometime bizarre ones also but
never leaves you empty handed. Travelling makes you learn
adapting things easily. Travelling makes you realise that people might speak different languages and
eat different foods, but at the core all are the same. Meeting with different peoples knowing about
their lifestyle, language and stories. Its enriching. Travelling awaken the wanderlust inside you, lets
you connect with the world in best way.
Death anniversary of the father of the nation

On 30 january ,nation remebered 69th death anniversary mohandas karamchandra gandhi which is
remarked as martyr's day.Gandhi lived modestly in a self sufficient residential community and wore
traditional dhoti.He was one of the freedom fightors of india who was against british government and made
india free with his many movement like non cooperation ,satyagrah,quit india movement and many more.
At 5:17 pm on 30 january 1948, gandhi ji was with his grandnieces in the garden of the former birla house
which is known as gandhi smiriti ,on his way for prayer and meeting with the people, he was short fired 3
bullets by Nathuram godse from 9mm beretta pistol into his chest at point range.Godse was from hindu
nationalist was against favoring pakistan and strogly opposed .Godse and his co-conspirator was tried and
executed in 1949.Gandhi ji memorial at raj ghat,new delhi,bears the epigraph “he raam”,these were the last
word of gandhi ji,Prime minister jawaharlal nehru addressed the nation by radio.Gandhi ji death was
mourned nationwide, which over million people joined the five mile long funeral procession that took over
