Outline/Rough Draft Template

Introduction:
 Hook – Grab the readers attention by using a quote, fact,
statistic, or anecdote that relates to the topic.
 Background – Give the reader a brief overview of your topic
by writing 2-4 sentences that include the topic, the
location, the group of people/culture impacted, and
cause(s) of conflict
 Thesis – Conclude your introduction by restating your topic
and listing your 3 main ideas (Cause/Effect) in the order
they will be discussed.

Body Paragraphs (All body paragraphs should have a TEA format):


Complete each of the following steps:
a. Identify your 3 main ideas (Conflict Cause/Effect)
b. Group/organize your evidence so that the ideas progress
from one to another.
c. Complete the T by writing your topic.
d. Complete the E by writing the supporting evidence for the
topic
e. Complete the A by writing analysis for the evidence
f. Complete your set of TEA by providing an additional example
and written analysis.
