GRM Supporters Honored ot"Appreciation 200I"

fl n Saturday, September 22, at a time when all Ameri-
I lcans were grieving the loss of life on September 11 and
I lstill struggling to understand fully the ramifications of
Ll the barbaric acts of terrorism, a large group of friends
and family of GRM gathered at the Mclean Bible Church
to celebrate the victory of restored and redirected lives at
GRM and to express heartfelt appreciation to the many
individuals, churches and organizations that have part-
nered with GRM in this labor of love. There were a num-
ber of special moments throughout the evening. First, we
paid tribute to one of our long time Board members, Al
Manola, and his wife of 62years, Frances. Al celebrated his
89th birthday on September 28 and has contributed to the
GRM ministry in many ways over a number of years. We
also honored the memory of Lisa Raines who lost her life
at the Pentagon on September 11. A separate tribute T.L.M. member Kevin Padgett takes

appears below. Then we all stood and hands in an
emotional display of unity as we sang "God Bless America". Program reports were provided and
several men and women gave powerful testimonies of how God has changed their lives while at
GRM. Special recognition and words of appreciation were expressed to many volunteers who
have unselfishly given of their time and talents to serve at GRM. The TLM men's singing group,
Accepted in the Beloved, presented a moving musical package and were joined by the Fulton
women at the close of the program in a stirring musical number. As we closed the program, we
thanked God for a wonderful evening of encouragement and praise and reconfirmed our desire
to continue serving Him at GRM with even greater care, compassion and love. Al Manola & ]ohn ]aclcson

path toward recovery and reentry into the mainstream of society. We continue
to see a good retention rate for those who have entered our programs during
the course of 2001. Praise God for many trophies of His healing grace.
