Good Morning Rebecca,
Thanks so much for welcoming me into your classroom today. It was
lovely to hang out in grade three again.

Today was a great chance to pop in and see what routines you’ve
put into place, and how things are going with your students. I really
noticed you’ve spent time with the students learning/ working
toward classroom expectations. This was evident in the “Great
Classmate” chart paper, as well as the classroom rules. Your
students were settled and respectfully showing these expectations.
Great work creating that classroom culture!

In writing, you explained to students about the “writing process”,
clarifying that you were at the beginning of the process. You kept
your ‘busy’ student settled by having him run errands for you, and
getting down and quiet with those that needed more one on one
attention, while they worked on their rough drafts. Great rapport
started with your students.

Technology in the classroom is another way to hit those multiple
intelligences. Using the Smart Board is a great way to engage
students. I loved seeing “Rate the Writing” on the board, and would
have loved to see you introduce this. The lesson on Malala’s
biography was a great listening activity as well.

Thanks again,
Rochelle McDonald
