Course Description:
This course is a continuation of drawing skills learned in previous
drawing classes. Students will refine their skills and expand their
knowledge. In this class you will experiment with different media,
techniques, and processes to communicate and solve creative problems. In
addition, you will learn to look at talk about many different types of artwork
in relation to history and culture. Students will build on their portfolio for
presenting to art schools.
Opportunities will be offered for various art contest participation.
Various art college representatives will be visiting the classroom to talk
about their school as well as give portfolio reviews.

Grading: The following scale will determine your grade.


A+ 97-100%
A 94-96
A- 90-93
B+ 87-89
B 84-86
B- 80-83
C+ 77-79
C 74-76
C- 70-73
D+ 67-69
D 64-66
D- 60-63
F 0-59
You will be graded on five components for each assignment. You will receive the
grading requirements on each assignment sheet at the beginning of each project.

The components are:

Creativity- The originality and uniqueness of your artwork.


Composition- How you arrange objects in your work.
Technique- How you apply the specific techniques that we learned
for the problem.
Craftsmanship- The neatness and presentation of your finished work.
Participation- Your involvement in class as well as work ethics.
