Aim: To show the action of diastase on starch at room temperature (about 30oC)

Materials
3 x test tubes Iodine solution with dropper Starch solution
Diastase solution Boiled diastase Syringes

Method
Prepare 3 test tubes labeled A, B and C with the following contents. You are to add
ONE drop of iodine in all the 3 test tubes, shake and record your observations in the
table provided below.

A 2cm3 diastase and

2cm3 starch

B 2cm3 boiled diastase and

2cm3 starch

C 2cm3 distilled water and

2cm3 starch
