Battle of the Cowshed Newspaper article

You are a reporter for Manor Farm and Snowball and Napoleon have tasked you with writing a
newspaper article about the Battle of the Cowshed.

In your newspaper, they have asked you to write two different types of articles:

1. An informative article
Focus on reporting back the: who, what, where, why, when and how of the battle; keep the
information unbiased and factual.

2. An opinion article
After the battle, Snowball has asked you to write an opinion piece titled, “The only good human
being is a dead one”.

When writing your response, make sure you reference events from Chapter 4 of Animal Farm. Your
article should have an introduction and one body paragraph.

Each article should be approximately 150 words.

Set your paper up with an appropriate Title (the masthead), headline, date and by-line (name of
the journalist). Set your piece out as an article ought to be written: in columns. Use language that is
relatively formal (e.g. not slang) and yet uses interesting words to help the readers’ imaginations
run away with them! Fill your spaces with at least one visual representation of what your guests
might look like and with the inclusion of at least one appropriate advertisement.
