Mudmat structural design loads calculation - (Max My Case)


This spreadsheet calculates the following
1) Design bearing pressured and frictional stresses for the mudmats
2) Design loads for the mudmat connections

Figure 1 shows plan view of the mudmat system, with Main mudmat at the center and two
Additional mudmats on both sides. C1 and C2 are the connections between the mudmats.

Maximum bearing pressure on Additional mudmats,

Mudmat connections design moment calculation


Mudmat connections, C1 and C2 (Figure 1) are expected to transfer Forces in 3 directions
and moment about X axis (effectively constraining all degrees of freedom of the additional mudmats)

From the overall foundation design loads and max/min bearing pressure, it can be observed
that the bearing pressure varies significantly in the length (X) direction, whereas minimal variation
is expected in the breadth (Y) direciton. Figure 2 shows the pressure distrubtion along X axis
Figure 3 shows pressure distribution along Y axis.

Mudmat connections design moment calculation


Mudmat connections, C1 and C2 (Figure 1) are expected to transfer Forces in 3 directions
