1. Appointment as Paralegal
Your appointment as a paralegal of the ___________________ is
limited to work undertaken at the Bureau of Immigration.
2. Job Description
As a paralegal, you will be under direct supervision of the
handling lawyer in certain cases and expected to the following:
a. Perform research on applicable laws, rules, and
regulations; b. Discover facts of the case, collects and organize evidence and other important papers for lawyers to review; c. Keep client files organized and up to date in paper and/or electronic format; d. Draft formal legal documents, such as contracts and pleadings, as well as correspondence with clients and other parties; e. Prepare reports for lawyers in anticipation of trial; f. Gather formal statements from parties and witnesses for use in court; g. Assist during trial by taking notes, preparing exhibits, and reading court transcripts; h. File documents, such as briefs and appeals, with court and other parties; i. Arrange meetings and depositions with clients, witnesses, and other lawyers; j. Contact clients to investigate the case and keep them apprised of the case's status; and k. Attend to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, making and receiving phone calls, and fielding correspondence.

Your appointment will be for a period of one (1) year
